Courage and Confidence. These words were first spoken over two hundred years ago by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, foundress of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Here at Newton Country Day, we focus on the same core values that are reflected in Sacred Heart schools around the world. Highly motivated students and faculty of all faiths create a vibrant community distinguished by vigorous intellect, active compassion, and joyful traditions.
Students and faculty returned from Thanksgiving break to a school decorated for Christmas and filled with a festive spirit. While the classrooms continue to buzz with active learning, athletics have moved indoors with the start of the winter sports season. The melodies that waft down the the hallways are in preparation for Vespers, our annual prayer service featuring music, song, and dance, which takes place in mid-December. Advent Angels, another NCDS tradition, also builds community and celebrates this special time of the year.
To discover what Newton Country Day has to offer, I suggest you begin by exploring our website. Prospective families are invited to come in for tours and interviews, and we also encourage you to attend one of our regional receptions in January. Please call the Admission Office if you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit.
I wish you and your family courage and confidence as you navigate the school application process.
