Courage and Confidence. These words were first spoken over two hundred years ago by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, foundress of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Here at Newton Country Day, we focus on the same core values that are reflected in Sacred Heart schools around the world. Highly motivated students and faculty of all faiths create a vibrant community distinguished by vigorous intellect, active compassion, and joyful traditions.
October has been filled with academic discovery, scientific inquiry, and artistic expression. Fall sports teams are competing on the fields, in the new gym, and on the Charles River, and melodies from rehearsals of Into the Woods fill the hallways after school. At the Martin Center, our new facility for wellness and athletics, girls can be found learning in class, participating in spin and fitness training, dancing in the movement studio, and practicing on the volleyball courts. Although the weather is often summer-like, you can tell that it's autumn on Centre Street.
To discover what Newton Country Day has to offer, I encourage you to explore our website. Prospective families are invited to come in for tours and interviews, as well our Open House, Boston Reception, and Parent Coffee. Please call the Admissions Office if you have any questions or would like to schedule a visit.
I wish you and your family courage and confidence as you navigate the school application process.
