Newton Country Day School's athletic program challenges each student to work her hardest, support her teammates, and broaden her physical and mental capacities. Skilled coaching, careful training, and rigorous inter-scholastic competition provide each girl with the chance to develop her physical strength, coordination, and team skills at various levels.
The Newton athletic program fields 40 teams in 14 interscholastic sports across three seasons. More than three-quarters of our students participate in at least one competitive interscholastic sport in the course of each academic year. Varsity, junior varsity and Middle School offer a range of playing levels. Newton is a member of the Eastern Independent League (EIL) and competes against member schools and other independent schools throughout New England.
The athletic program is supported by playing fields, a gymnasium, a fitness room, an athletic training room, and a newly upgraded ice hockey rink on the banks of the Charles River. Squash and tennis teams practice at nearby facilities.
