Save the date: Homecoming 2008 will be on Saturday, October 11.
In July, History Department Chair Patience Berkman will present a workshop for teachers entitled "World War II in the Pacific: Multiple Perspectives" as part of a Summer Institute sponsored by Primary Source, a curriculum development organization committed to building global understanding. Mrs. Berkman will look at Japan's thirst for oil as an important factor in tensions building up to the war, and will present original materials related to literature and film that will enable teachers to bring an enriched curriculum to their students.
