Spring Sports Highlights - Middle School



Middle School Tennis            5-2-1

 

The tennis team enjoyed a strong season marked by hard-work, tenacity, and passion. Sixteen doubles players combined for a 22-5-1 match record and the seven singles players notched a .500 record of 16-16. The coached remarked on the skills and dedication the girls brought to their practices and matches and high bar they set for themselves to improve their play and model sportsmanship.

Middle School Lacrosse ‘A’  4-5-3

The Lacrosse ‘A’ coaches commended the 23 ‘A’ team players for their tremendous improvement over the season, their camaraderie, and an ever-present determination. This is evident as they won the last three games of the season by an overall margin of 31-23 behind the team’s dynamic goalie S. Tripp ’18.

Coaches’ Award: M. Barrow ’16

Middle School Lacrosse ‘B’  4-7

Determination, enthusiasm, and practice earned the ‘B’ team a mastery of the fundamentals of lacrosse that lead to four wins, including one 7-0 shut-out. The coaches remarked on the team’s steady improvement in passing, cradling, endurance, and its commitment to work as a unit.

Middle School Softball          4-5

The girls in Blue came to bat 297 times and connected for 183 hits that included two homeruns, three triples, and 106 trips across the plate. Pitcher C. Barreto ’16 recorded 24 strikeouts in the 21 innings she pitched and the team’s batting prowess hit a prolific record in the season’s final game with a 23-6 win.
