On Saturday, March 11, four Upper School girls participated in the 63rd Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) All-State Music Festival Concert at Symphony Hall. H. Banach ’17 (Soprano), C. Picken ’17 (Soprano), C. Murphy Racette ’18 (Alto), and M. Tango ’17 (Soprano) sang in the All-State Chorus.
Under the direction of conductor Andrew Megill, Director of Choral Activities at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the Chorus performed Land of the Free by Gwyneth Walker, Come, Sable Night by John Ward, Suite de Lorca by Einojuhani Rautavaara, Os justi by Anton Bruckner, Ruth by Paul Ayers, A Jubilant Song by Norman Dello Joio, and Shenandoah arr. by James Erb.
The concert also included performances by the All-State Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Symphonic Band.
