Biology Classes Practice Mindfulness with Signs of Spring
On Thursday, April 8, the Class of 2024 created a mindful biology photo journal following the prompt “Tell me it’s spring without telling me it’s spring.” The students took a “mindful moment” to step outside their classroom and take a photo to contribute to the class-wide project on Google Slides.

- Quietly observe the subtle seasonal changes around campus
- What do you hear? What do you see? What do you smell? What do you feel? What biology course topics come to mind?
- Give yourself a mindful moment to appreciate your observations
- Capture one sure sign that spring is arriving
- Add your photo to this slide deck
- Return often to see how other ninth grade students are noticing changes to the biotic world around them!
