Emily Wang ‘29 Makes History at China’s National Games

Emily Wang ‘29 recently traveled to Hong Kong to compete at the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China. Wang returned home with a silver medal after defeating three consecutive Olympic athletes and advancing to the finals. At age 14, she also broke the China national record for being the youngest fencer to reach the final podium at National games. Wang was recently officially selected as a member of the China National Youth team. 

The National Games of the People’s Republic of China is the country’s highest level and largest comprehensive sports event, held every four years. Wang has many competitions she is preparing for, but up next is the FIE (International Fencing Federation) World Cup in Slovakia where she will be representing China.
