The week of September 12, the Upper School participated in grade-level community building and on-campus service projects to facilitate Sacred Heart Goal IV, the building of community as a Christian value.
- Grade 9 traveled to the Toah Nipi Retreat and Training Center in Rindge, N.H. where senior mentors led activities designed to both help the girls get to know each other, and familiarize themselves with the Goals and Criteria for Sacred Heart Schools.
- Grade 10 orientation took place at the Morse Hill Outdoor Education Center in Shutesbury, Mass. The programming helped build understanding, respect, responsibility, and caring within the individual, between individuals within the group, between the groups, and between humans and the environment.
- The junior class went to New York City to deepen its commitment to Sacred Heart Goal III, a social awareness which impels to action, through service, and visiting historical sites that connect with the U.S. History curriculum.
- The Class of 2023 took part in “Love in Action” day of leadership programming and community-building. Seniors who did not accompany Grade 9 or Grade 10 on their trips participated in on-campus service, collaborating with Volunteer Ventures to build desks and shelves for under-resourced schools.
All members of the school community look forward to Homecoming Weekend Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24, and the all-school Mass of the Holy Spirit and Blue Silver Induction in the coming weeks.
