Challenging girls to become women of
intellect, character, innovation, action, and faith

Spring Athletics Wrap Up
This spring, Newton Country Day Middle and Upper School athletes, in addition to participating in sport-specific skills and fitness-based practices, scrimmaged against Eastern Independent League schools.

Twice a week, Middle School girls had the option to practice lacrosse, softball, and tennis. While there were no designated junior varsity or varsity teams, Upper School athletes signed up for crew, fitness classes, golf, lacrosse, sailing, softball, or tennis. Additionally, a Basketball Clinic was offered on Wednesdays.

“It was great to see the athletes back on our playing fields, courts, and on the water this spring,” commented Director of Athletics Kimberly Southall. “After missing the entire spring season last year, we were fortunate to be able to practice in-person and have contests against opponents. Watching our students play against students from other EIL schools, both home and away, was thrilling for our athletes, parents, and the athletic department.”
