Challenging girls to become women of
intellect, character, innovation, action, and faith

Students Recognized by Statewide Literature Competition
Three Newton Country Day students were recognized by the Letters About Literature statewide competition. Run by the Massachusetts Center for the Book, the competition is for the girls to write a letter to the author of a book that changed their perspective on life.

N. Liu ’26 and T. Murphy ’26 were finalists and A. Perri ’26 was a semi-finalist.

In 2019, E. Cressotti ’25 was a state finalist and A. Kretsedemas ’25 was a semi-finalist in the competition. Cressotti’s award was especially exciting as the author Elly Swartz, author of Finding Perfect, heard about her letter and wrote her back to Cressotti. Had it not been for the pandemic, Cressotti would have been invited to the State House to receive her award. English Teacher Michael Rosovsky noted, “This was very exciting and the highest achievement yet for an NCDS student.”
