Challenging girls to become women of
intellect, character, innovation, action, and faith

Winter Athletics Wrap Up
While Newton Country Day athletes did not participate in a formal winter athletic season, Middle and Upper School students had the opportunity to take part in sport-specific skills and fitness-based practices.

On Wednesdays after school, Middle School girls had the option to engage in basketball, ice hockey, and fitness (7th and 8th Grades). While there were no designated junior varsity or varsity teams, on Tuesdays through Fridays, Upper School athletes signed up for basketball, dance team, ice hockey, fitness class, or running club.
“It was incredible to see the large number of student athletes who participated in winter sports,” said Athletic Director Kimberly Southall. “Teams were outside dancing in the parking lot, running the streets in all temperatures, and playing basketball on outdoor courts. Once again, our girls adapted to new protocols and locations. They came each day with positive energy and truly found joy being together and playing the sport they love.”
