Library

The NCDS Library maintains a wide variety of physical and digital resources, meeting the research needs of the NCDS community. Opened in 2007, the library includes spaces for individual study and group collaboration. In addition, the library offers two study rooms, a media classroom, wireless internet, desktop computers with curriculum-specific software, and Chromebooks for Middle School use.

The librarians collaborate with faculty to plan research assignments, support ongoing projects, and teach library and research skills. The librarians also work with individuals to critically evaluate information, conduct research effectively, and locate materials for assignments and personal reading. Students and faculty are welcome to offer suggestions for the library collection.

The library collection includes over 16,000 books, DVDs, and audiobooks, which are searchable through the online catalog. The library also subscribes to 30 online databases, which provide access to thousands of current and historical academic journal, magazine, newspaper, and reference articles.
