The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) recognized I. de Luis ’21 for her accomplishments and interest in computing and technology with an Honorable Mention in Aspirations in Computing.
Science and Engineering Fair
On Wednesday, February 28 Newton Country Day held the 23rd annual Science and Engineering Fair. Girls in Grades 7 and 8, and Upper School students participating in Independent Research, presented their projects to a group of judges. Seventh-grade students focused their research on life and general science, while eighth-grade girls presented on engineering. The judging panel was comprised of individuals from diverse professions in math, science, and engineering, and includes current Newton Country Day seniors, teachers, and alumnae.
On Saturday, March 10, Newton Country Day Upper School girls competed in the Region V Science and Engineering Fair at Bridgewater State University. The South Shore Regional Science Fair is open to all grade 9-12 students in southeastern Massachusetts.
