Approximately 25% of NCDS students receive tuition assistance, with awards ranging from 30% to 100 % of the tuition cost; the average award is 75%. The school gives out over three million dollars in tuition assistance each year.

At NCDS, tuition assistance is based on demonstrated financial need. We do not offer merit aid, academic scholarships, or athletic scholarships.

Accepted families are informed about their tuition assistance award on March 10, when they receive their admission decision and enrollment contract. Awards are not finalized until parents’ current year tax forms are received.

Yes, there will be some additional costs, such as books, Middle School instrument rental fees, 8th Grade Washington, D.C. trip, A.P. examination fees, Upper School sports uniforms, etc., depending on the grade. There is limited assistance for additional costs depending on the level of tuition assistance a family receives.
