While Newton Country Day athletes did not participate in a formal fall athletic season, Middle and Upper School students had the opportunity to take part in sport-specific skills and fitness-based practices.
At Newton Country Day, interscholastic sports begin in Grade 5 with opportunities for students of all abilities, from beginner to recruited athlete. The Martin Center, our state-of-the-art athletic and wellness hub, has strengthened and expanded our already successful athletics program. NCDS is a member of the Eastern Independent League (EIL), New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC), and has 38 teams in 14 sports. For specific team information, please select a sport from our team page.
Athletics are a meaningful and integral part of the experience at NCDS. We view athletics as an extension of the classroom where girls have the opportunity to compete at different levels while experiencing personal growth. Our coaching staff believes in our mission and teaching the whole child through athletics.
Varsity Squash team members J. Love ’21 and C. Odegard ’22 have been named Scholar Athlete Award recipients by US Squash for the 2019-20 school year. This marks Odegard’s first year as a recipient and Love’s third.
Newton Country Day’s Middle and Upper School winter athletic teams celebrated the conclusion of their seasons with assemblies to recognize girls for their achievements.
