COVID-19 Testing Information
The school has contracted with CIC Health and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard to conduct weekly testing of all students, faculty, and staff who will enter the school building. The assurance testing program is designed to work in concert with health and safety protocols to minimize risk of transmission of COVID-19 among our school community. Each week, every member of the community must have a negative COVID test result on file with the Health Office in order to come to campus.
The school nurses are the primary point of contact about COVID-19 and can be reached in the Health Office at (617) 559-4777 and healthteam@newtonSH.org.
Below are FAQs about our testing program, quarantine procedures and contact tracing. The school’s protocols follow the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) protocols and meet or exceed the Commonwealth’s guidelines.
