Planned Giving

A gift in your will or trust, known as a bequest, is a meaningful way to support future generations at Newton Country Day. You can leave a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other gifts have been made.

Sample Language:

“I give [$ amount or percentage] to Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, Newton, MA, for its general use [or specify a purpose].”

or

“I give Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, Newton, MA, [all or ___%] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used for its general purposes (or a specific program).”

You can support Newton Country Day by naming the School as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or life insurance policy. This type of gift offers a simple way to make a lasting impact, often with significant tax benefits.

Because retirement assets may be heavily taxed if passed to heirs, designating Newton Country Day as a beneficiary can reduce your taxable estate while supporting our mission. You retain full control of your assets during your lifetime, and your gift to the School is free of income and estate taxes.

To make this gift, request a “change of beneficiary” form from your plan administrator, complete it with Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart as the beneficiary, and return it to your provider. Please also let us know so we can honor your intentions.
