- 5:30pm: Baccalaureate Liturgy, NCDS Chapel: Seniors and their immediate family members are invited to the Baccalaureate Liturgy in the Chapel. Seniors must arrive by 4:30pm. This concluding liturgy is an opportunity for the school community to pray together in thanksgiving for our seniors and to bless them on their way. Contact Ms. Regan at x4918 with questions.
Commencement: Thu. Jun. 4 at 10am, Sunken Garden
Commencement will be held in the Sunken Garden. Generally, the ceremony lasts about 90 minutes. All are welcome! Seniors must arrive by 7:30am. Individual graduate portraits and the class photograph are taken promptly, so attendance is essential. Seniors wear white attire appropriate for the occasion. More information about the day of Commencement, including the Legacy Photo, can be found on the Commencement page on our website.
Summer Sports Clinics on Pause for 2026
Due to the construction projects on campus, we are pausing summer sports clinics this season. We will roll them out again in 2027. Athletes are encouraged to check in with their coaches for other opportunities to train over the summer.

Save the Date! Fall Sports Tryouts
Mark your calendars for fall athletics! US sports tryouts begin Mon. Aug. 24. Practice sessions will be 4-6pm through Fri. Aug. 28. MS sports tryouts begin Mon. Aug. 31. From Mon. Aug. 31 to Thu. Sep. 3, MS teams will practice Mon./Tue./Thu. from 3:15-4:15pm and Wed./Fri. from 2:45-3:45pm, while US will practice Mon./Tue./Thu. from 4:15-5:45pm and Wed./Fri. from 3:45-5:15pm. On Fri. Sep. 4, only US teams will practice from 10am-12pm. There are no sports activities on Mon. Sep. 7.
Volunteers Needed for Welcome Family Program
Please help us demonstrate Goal IV: the building of community as a Christian value as we welcome new families to the school. We are asking for volunteers to serve as host families for incoming students and parents/caregivers. In particular, we are looking for families with daughters in MS or Grade 9 next year, as these grades have the largest groups of new students.
Being a host family does not require a big time commitment, but it can really help with a new family's transition to our school. Responsibilities include:
- Connecting with new families in person or virtually during the summer
- Connecting with new families a week before the start of school to answer any last-minute questions
- Staying in touch with new families throughout the school year, with periodic check-ins
- Providing new families with information about upcoming events, school traditions, and student activities

Veracross Parent Portal - Grades and Tuition
2026-27 tuition invoices are now available in the Veracross Parent Portal. Parents/caregivers are advised to download grade reports and tuition invoices before the end of Jun. Parents/caregivers with withdrawing students or graduating seniors with no other children at the school will lose access to Veracross in late Jun.

Instructions to return your rented textbooks:
- Log in to your MBS Direct account and go to the rentals section of your account.
- Enter authentication code “NCDS”
- Choose the rental(s) you are returning and follow the steps on screen to submit your information.
Instructions to sell your textbooks back:
- Visit https://bncvirtual.com/ncds
- Under Menu, select Sell Your Textbooks.
- Review your eligibility by logging in with the same email address used to purchase your books at the beginning of term.
- Enter authentication code “NCDS”

NCDS Partners with Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio in 2026-27
NCDS is proud to continue our partnership with Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio to offer on-campus private music lessons on every instrument. Ms. Bordner, the studio director, and her faculty share a passion for teaching music, composition, and performance skills to students of all ages and abilities, on every instrument. Private lesson students have the opportunity to perform in our Spring Soiree Recital in May, as well as performance opportunities through Note-worthy. Prayers from the Heart (new website!)
Let the Prayers from the Heart community pray for your special prayer intention by submitting a prayer request via the Newton Country Day website, with the option to request confidentiality. Parents/caregivers who are interested may also volunteer to pray for the intentions of the community by subscribing to the Prayers from the Heart community also located on the website.

MS Fall Sports Sign-ups
As we begin planning for the fall athletics season, we ask that all students interested in participating in a MS sport complete the Fall Athletics Interest Form. This information helps us determine team numbers, coaching needs, and overall program planning for the season ahead. More information on the fall season will be sent out later. Go Falcons!
US Advisory Assignments in Jun. (Grades 10-12)
Each US student is assigned a faculty advisor whose role is to support and scaffold the student’s academic and interpersonal development. Starting Mon. Jun. 1, students in rising grades 10-12 will have the opportunity to indicate their top 6 choices for a 2026-27 advisor from a list of available faculty members. Rising Grade 11 and 12 students have the option to stay with their current advisor. When selecting a new advisor, not every student will be assigned her top choice.

Mandatory Service Immersion Trip Meetings: Wed. Jun. 3
All students attending the following service immersion trips are required to attend meetings following Prize Day ceremonies on Wed. Jun. 3 to discuss logistics and final steps to prepare for departure. These meetings are mandatory. Students can join the College Counseling Workshop after their previously scheduled meeting and will be brought up to speed.
- Southern California: 10-10:30am in room 207. Email Ms. Regan with questions.
- Camden, NJ: 10-10:30am in room 201. Email Ms. Milone with questions.
- ARISE: 10-11am, location will be emailed directly to students. Email Ms. Tremarche with questions.
US Leadership Training for Students: Fri. Jun. 5
All US students elected to the following leadership positions for 2026-27 are expected to attend a leadership training to prepare for the upcoming school year: Committee Heads, Affinity Group Heads, Student Government, Honor Committee, Peer Education, Peer Ministry, Athletic Team Captains, and Fall Musical Assistants.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
- 9-10am: Committee Heads & Affinity Group Heads, SAAC
- 10-11:30am: All Elected Leaders
- 11:30am-12:30pm: Lunch (Athletic Team Captains and Fall Musical Assistants will meet over lunch)
- 12:30-1:30pm: Student Government, Honor Committee, Peer Education, Peer Ministry, Committee of Games

Hesed Program Project Proposals (Class of 2028): due Fri. Jun. 5
Over the past several months, students in Grade 10 have received an introduction to the Hesed Project, a required 40-hour community service commitment that is integrated into the Religion 11 curriculum. Students are strongly advised to complete these projects during the summer prior to junior year. The initial deadline for summer service project proposals (or a deferral to complete Hesed during the school year) is Fri. Jun. 5, though summer proposals will continue to be reviewed in the weeks following. See a general overview of the Hesed Program and its requirements here. New for 2026-27: Varsity/JV Team Warm-ups
Beginning this fall, all US student-athletes (Varsity and JV) will be required to purchase the official NCDS warm-up set, available through the school store website. Wearing these at competitions will help foster school pride, strengthen team unity, and continue elevating the presence and identity of Falcon athletics.
Laptop Information for Incoming US Students
The US utilizes a 1:1 laptop program, which means that students bring their own computers to school each day. This letter outlines device specification recommendations for all students entering the US.

US Fall Production: Les Misérables: School Edition
Preseason auditions and rehearsals for our US Fall Production, Les Misérables: School Edition, will run from Mon. Aug. 24 - Thu. Aug. 27 from 4-6pm and Fri. Aug. 28 from 10am-12pm. Callbacks for all cast members will take place on Mon. Aug. 31 from 3:45-5:45pm. Students should come prepared to the auditions with a memorized short monologue and be prepared to sing a verse and chorus from a song of their own choosing. Previous musical theater experience is not required. All cast members will receive a role in our production! Stage crew members will work during the same assigned hours as cast members. Our regular practice schedule starts on Tue. Sep. 1. Weekly rehearsals run from 3:45-5:45pm on Mon., Tue., Thu., and from 2:45-5pm on Wed. and Fri. We have extended hours during Tech Week and students will receive a detailed rehearsal calendar during Aug. preseason week. US Fall Overnight Trips
Grades 9-11 leave for class trips in early Sep. To go on these trips, all students must have up-to-date medical forms on file in Magnus Health.
- Grade 9 Orientation at the Craigville Retreat Center: Wed. Sep. 9 - Fri. Sep. 11 in Centerville, MA
- Grade 11 visits New York City: Wed. Sep. 9 - Fri. Sep. 11. The purpose of the trip is to deepen a commitment to Goal III, “a social awareness which impels to action,” through service, and to visit historical sites that connect with the U.S. History curriculum.
- Grade 10 Outdoor Education program: Thu. Sep. 10 - Fri. Sep. 11 at the Morse Hill Outdoor Education Center in Shutesbury, MA.

- Congratulations to our senior class on a remarkable year!
- Students must enter their “College I’m Attending” in Naviance in order for final transcripts to be delivered to their institution.
- Final transcripts will be sent to colleges and universities as soon as they are available from the Academic Office post-graduation.
Class of 2027

- Wed. Jun. 3: Final Class Meeting from 10:30am-11am
- Students will wrap up college counseling assignments for the spring and learn of summer scaffolding and support to best position themselves for their return to school in Sep.
- Wed. Jun. 3: Optional Application Workshop from 11am-12pm
- Students are encouraged to take advantage of this optional work period to receive support as they begin drafting personal essay topics, refining their activity list descriptions, or completing portions of their Common App.
- Students who choose to participate should complete this RSVP form.
- College counselors will be available intermittently throughout the summer to offer support and/or meet virtually with rising Grade 12 students.
- An email titled, “College Counseling Summer Plan” will provide a summer checklist and resources for rising seniors to make the best use of their time this summer.
Class of 2028
- Welcome to College Counseling! We look forward to growing in partnership with students, parents and caregivers in the 2026-27 school year.
- Students have begun engaging with “Scoir”, a college search platform, and saved their Becoming Narratives to their individual profile.
- This fall, Grade 11 students will be assigned a college counselor to support the development of their vision beyond NCDS. This college counselor will offer streamlined support and advocacy through the college admissions process and graduation.
- An email titled, “Welcome to College Counseling” will outline basic information about what to expect from partnership with College Counseling throughout the Grade 11 journey.
