Middle School Girls Advance to State Science Fair

On Saturday, April 21, Newton Country Day School 7th and 8th grade girls competed in the Region V Massachusetts Middle School Science and Engineering Fair at Regis College. The competition brought 145 students with a total of 112 projects competing for one of the 40 spaces available to advance to the Massachusetts Middle School Science and Engineering Fair.

Poet Rhina Espaillat Visits Newton Country Day

Bilingual Dominican- American poet, Rhina Espaillat shared her poems and stories with the girls of Newton Country Day this Wednesday. Espaillat has been praised for her work and for translating the poetry of Robert Frost and Richard Wilbur into Spanish.  She has received the T.S. Eliot Prize and the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award among others.

Learn, Pray, Act

In observance of Holy Week, Newton Country Day participated in Learn/Pray/Act, an initiative dedicated to reflecting on and learning more about immigration through a variety of activities.
